A ruptured 8-inch waterline in the 3200 block of Navarre Avenue has been fixed, but westbound Navarre is reduced to one lane of traffic until the pavement can be repaired.

Paul Roman, the Oregon service director, said a paving crew would be called in on Friday, and four water system customers are under instructions to boil their water.

Mr. Roman said he was notified of the broken line beneath Navarre at about 8 a.m. The pressure from the escaping water lifted the pavement, which had to be dug up and removed. The line, with a hole in its side, was clamped at about 3:30 p.m. by a water department crew.
