RUPTURED WATERLINE DISRUPTS TRAFFIC FLOW

Sinkhole opens on Navarre

7/25/2014

Westbound Navarre Avenue is reduced to one lane in the 3200 block after crews dug a hole to fix a ruptured waterline. The 8-inch line was repaired Thursday, but Paul Roman, Oregon service director, said a paving crew would be called in today to repair the road, and four water system customers are under instructions to boil their water.

Mr. Roman said he was notified of the broken line about 8 a.m. Pressure from the escaping water lifted the pavement, which had to be dug up and removed.

Crews clamped the line, which had a hole in its side, about 3:30 p.m.
