Group seeks stories from residents about memories

The Sylvania Historical Village is asking area residents to share their stories as part of an oral history project.

The historical village at 5717 N. Main St. is seeking stories from area and former residents of all ages about their memories of their lives in Sylvania. It will hold a storytelling day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, during which first-person accounts will be recorded on DVD. Footage will be used for production of Sylvania’s documented history.

Joy Armstrong, the historical village’‍s executive director, said it is searching for those who can speak about major life events, including those who used the local train depot to depart for long journeys, military service, or the Peace Corps.
