Recycling of farm tires available in 3 counties


FREMONT — Farmers and other residents can recycle farm tires this month via the Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca Joint Solid Waste District.

To register for the recycling event, call the district office at 419-334-7222 or 888-850-7224 from Monday through Aug. 22. You will be given a time and date to deliver your tires to the Sandusky County Fairgrounds in Fremont. Recycling fees will be $1 per tire for wagon tires and other small tires, $10 per tire for tires that are 37-60 inches in diameter, and $15 for tires larger than 60 inches in diameter.

People recycling tires will need to provide proof of residency in Ottawa, Sandusky, or Seneca counties.
