Authorities identify man killed in train, car collision

WESTON, Ohio — Authorities today released the identitiy of a Custar man who was killed Monday night in a train-vehicle accident at the CSX Transportation Corp. railroad tracks on Weston Road just south of here, authorities said.

Marvin J. Harris, 38, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife and the driver of the vehicle, Nikki L. Harris, 36, was flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. She was listed in fair condition today, a hospital spokesman said.

The southbound vehicle failed to yield for the train, which was traveling east, deputies said. The accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. near Portage Road in Milton Township.

The incident remains under investigation.
