Lewis Avenue BP station gets robbed at knifepoint

IDA, Mich. — A Lewis Avenue gas station was robbed at knifepoint, officials said.

The robbery at BP, 3251 Lewis Ave., in Ida Township, was reported at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday.

A man went into the gas station store and, at the counter, showed a clerk a knife, and demanded cash from a register, according to the Monroe County sheriff’s office. The clerk complied and gave the robber an unspecified amount of money, and the man fled, the sheriff’s office said.
