Parking will be prohibited on part of an East Toledo street Sunday evening and night and traffic on several connecting streets will be disrupted while trucks haul two huge pieces of equipment from the Port of Toledo to the Toledo Refining Co. on Woodville Road, the Toledo Division of Transportation announced.

Traffic signals and overhead wires along parts of Front Street, Oak Street, and Woodville will be removed temporarily for the shipments, which are both more than 31 feet tall.

A third-stage separator weighing 285 tons and a petroleum reactor weighing 499.5 tons were to arrive overnight or today by barge from Oklahoma and are to be loaded onto special heavy-haul trucks at a dock at 2367 Front St. Starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, Deep South Heavy Lift and Transport Solutions has a city permit to move the oversize loads to the refinery just across the city line in Oregon.

The trucks are to travel at 2 mph, and will be escorted by Toledo police, who will stop traffic and close side streets as needed, a city statement said.

Besides being heavy and tall, the loads are 25 and 27 feet wide, respectively, so parking will be prohibited on Oak between Front and Woodville from 6 p.m. Sunday until 9 a.m. Monday.
