COLUMBUS — Ohio drivers aren’t seeing much difference in prices at the pump as the week begins.

A gallon of regular gas was averaging $3.42 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s up about 2 cents from a week ago but is 11 cents cheaper than at this time last year.

The Ohio figure isn’t far off the national average listed at about $3.44 on Monday.

Among Ohio’s metropolitan areas, the Youngstown-Warren region logged the lowest average at about $3.32 per gallon, a dime cheaper than the statewide average.

Analysts have expected prices to stay lower during August if refinery production remains strong and unexpected problems don’t increase oil prices.
