An annual church fair to benefit the pet food bank at Humane Ohio is slated for Sunday.

The Pets in Poverty Fair will run from noon to 4 p.m. at Church of St. Andrew United Methodist, 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd., in Toledo. Admission is free.

The goal this year is to collect and donate 4,000 pounds of pet food. Pet food of all types is welcome, but the food bank is in particular need of cat food. Additionally, all monetary donations and proceeds from the fair will be given to the pet food bank.

Activities include a bounce house, face painting, music, and a performance by Sheltered Reality at 3 p.m. Food and beverages will also be available, and dog-training businesses and animal-related nonprofits will be on hand.

Several local animal rescue groups are expected to attend with animals up for adoption, including the Lucas County Canine Care & Control, the Toledo Area Humane Society, Planned Pethood, Dogworks Canine Rescue and Placement, and Best Friends Forever Rescue.
