Glass City Marathon to alter traffic routes
Roads will close for Sunday events
4/20/2017The organizers of the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon are alerting the public to roads and streets that will be closed Sunday for the marathon and half-marathon events.
The following streets and intersections in Toledo will be affected to accommode the nearly 8,250 runners who will participate in the event.
■ Bancroft Street from Secor Road to University Hills, 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Bancroft from Secor to Indian River, 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
■ University Hills and Bancroft, 6:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Secor between Kenwood Boulevard to Dorr Street, 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
■ Secor between Kenwood to Valleston Parkway, 6:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Douglas Road between East Rocket Drive to Dorr, 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
■ Dorr between Douglas and Secor, closed to westbound traffic, 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
■ Cheltenham Street between Bancroft and Pelham Rd., 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
■ Pelham between Secor and Cheltenham, 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
■ Brantford Road between Secor and Drummond Road, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Drummond between Bancroft and Brantford, 7 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The following streets and intersections in Ottawa Hills will be closed during the following times:
■ Bancroft between Secor and University Parks Trail, 6:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Kenwood between Secor and Ottawa Hills High School, 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
■ Indian between Secor and Talmadge, 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
■ Various roads between Talmadge and Exmoor will be under controlled traffic from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
■ Talmadge between Indian and Bancroft, 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
■ Exmoor in Ottawa Hills to the main entrance of Wildwood on Central will be congested, controlled traffic — avoid 7:15 a.m. to 9 a.m.
■ Hasty Road between Central Avenue and Brittany Road will have lane restrictions for southbound traffic.
■ Central Avenue between Reynolds and Corey Road should be avoided between 7:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
■ Reynolds Road to Exmoor, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The following streets and intersections in Sylvania will have closures or experience congested traffic:
■ Northbound King Road between Sylvania Avenue and Brint Road, 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Sylvania and King under controlled traffic between 8:15 a.m. and 11 a.m.
■ King and Brint intersection will have controlled traffic between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
■ Brint closed to eastbound traffic between King and Brinthaven Drive, 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Vicksburg Drive, 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Olander Park entrance closed, 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
■ Lane restrictions on Sylvania between Olander Park and Corey Road, 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
■ Sylvania between McCord Road and Holland-Sylvania Road, 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
■ Corey between Sylvania and Central, 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
■ Corey exit from I-475, 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
