A line of thunderstorms entering northwest Ohio from Indiana has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm warning for most of Defiance County.
As of 2:19 p.m., the warned thunderstorm was near Hicksville, Ohio and moving east at about 30 mph. The warning, scheduled to expire at 3 p.m., also covered part of northern Paulding County.
The weather service office in North Webster, Ind., said the thunderstorm had wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail, big enough to damage vehicles.
The warned storm was part of a bigger line of thunderstorms stretching from south of Fort Wayne, Ind., into central Michigan that was moving east.
