State corrections employee charged with abduction

FINDLAY — A state corrections employee was indicted Tuesday by a Hancock County grand jury for restraining a juvenile against his will during an incident at a campground over Memorial Day.

Bryan Jameson, 44, of the 6000 block of Merle Street in West Toledo, is charged with abduction, with a gun specification — a third-degree felony — in Hancock County Common Pleas Court.

The incident was reported May 26 at the Twin Lakes Park campground on Township Road 34, near Bluffton.

Mr. Jameson, a Toledo Correctional Institute investigator, is accused of restraining a juvenile in a vehicle while he was armed, Hancock County Prosecutor Phil Riegle said.

Mr. Riegle said the juvenile and Mr. Jameson did not appear to know each other.

Deputies were called to the campground after Mr. Jameson reportedly pointed a gun at other campers and fired it while intoxicated. Officials said he was looking for his son. Investigators found two shell casings and two bullet holes in the ground.

A judge previously ordered Mr. Jameson not to consume or possess alcohol or drugs. He can’t possess or use weapons while his case is pending, according to court records.

TCI caseworker Ricci Nolen, 46, was with Mr. Jameson. Felony charges were not considered for her on Tuesday, Mr. Riegle said.

A message was left with Mr. Jameson’s attorney.

Mr. Jameson and Ms. Nolen remain on paid administrative leave, state officials said.
