Registration is open for a race Oct. 14 in honor of the slain Sierah Joughin.

The four-mile NWOH Spirit of Sierah Run will start at Ice Industries at 3810 Herr Rd. in Sylvania. Proceeds will go toward educating the public on Sierah’s Law. If passed, it would create a violent offender registry in Ohio for law enforcement to review, said Tara Ice, Ms. Joughin’s aunt.

To register, go to runsignup.com/Race/OH/Sylvania/NWOHSpiritofSierahRun. The $10,000 in prize money will go to the top five male and female runners.

Ms. Joughin, 20, of Metamora, Ohio, disappeared July 19, 2016. Her remains were found three days later. James Worley, 58, of rural Delta, Ohio, is to go on trial Jan. 16 on aggravated murder charges with capital specifications.
