PORT CLINTON — The Ottawa County Helping Hand Toy Drive starts Thursday.
New, unwrapped toys will be collected at a host of sites throughout the county, through Dec. 15. Gifts for children of all ages will be accepted, but there is specifically a need for gifts for children between the ages of 9 and 18.
The drive is a collaborative effort among the Salvation Army, Toys for Tots “Weapons Company 1/24,” and Ottawa County Holiday Bureau. Last year 6,000 toys were distributed through the county.
For more information or to make a donation, call Salvation Army Director Maureen Saponari at 419-732-2769.
