Members of two Lourdes University student groups sorted 1,350 pounds of donated personal-hygiene items Friday morning for packaging and delivery to six Toledo-area outreach pantries.

Sylvania Franciscan Village, which coordinated the Have a Heart Restock Drive to gather the donations, also received a $5,000 cash donation Sophia Lloyd, SFV director, will use to buy more hygiene items to deliver to the six pantries.

Members of the Lourdes softball team and the Lourdes Events and Activities Planning student organization sorted and grouped 5,820 bottles, packages, and boxes of items.

Recipients include Bethany House, Claver House, Helping Hands of St. Louis, Our Lady of Lourdes Outreach Soup Kitchen, Sylvania Area Family Services, and USTogether.
