The location of southbound I-75’s exit to westbound I-475 at the “Jeep Split” in Toledo will change Thursday night when the Ohio Department of Transportation opens a new ramp.

The new exit ramp starts about half a mile before the temporary ramp in use for more than a year during I-75’s reconstruction in the area.

Motorists planning to exit southbound I-75 onto I-475 should be in the right lane by the time they cross the Detroit/Berdan Viaduct so they can enter the ramp without difficulty, ODOT cautioned in an advisory issued Wednesday.

Starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, southbound I-75 will be reduced to one lane after Lagrange Street for a related traffic-pattern shift. At midnight, the northbound I-75 exit to westbound I-475 will be closed entirely, with traffic detoured via the Stickney/Lagrange interchange. All lanes and ramps are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Friday.

If a postponement is necessary, the work will be done Friday night into Saturday, ODOT said.

ODOT also announced Wednesday that Haverhill Drive had reopened between Berdan and Phillips avenues following reconstruction. The Phillips entrance to southbound I-75, however, remains closed.
