A Toledo man whose 3-year-old daughter shot herself in the hand after he left a loaded gun in the house pleaded guilty Wednesday to endangering children, a third-degree felony.

William L. Oliver, 39, of the 600 block of Ranch Drive faces up to three years in prison when he is sentenced April 4 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding.

Investigators said Oliver placed a loaded 9mm handgun under the covers of his wife's bed at a residence in the 6200 block of Applegate Street Aug. 21. While he was out of the bedroom, the couple's young daughter found the gun and unintentionally shot herself in the left hand.
