A North Toledo man who reportedly started a fire on the second-floor porch of the duplex where he lived was committed to the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital on Wednesday.

Salomon Muniz, 27, of the 3200 block of Stickney Avenue, was indicted on three counts of aggravated arson for a March 13 fire at his residence.

On July 20, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding found Mr. Muniz not guilty by reason of insanity following a bench trial. Mr. Muniz will be under the court's jurisdiction for up to 30 years — the longest term he faced if convicted of the charges.
