Dogs killed Sept. 14 and 16 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

American bulldog, brindle and white male, unlicensed; aggressive/unsafe; stray picked up Sept. 10 by a control officer at 1447 Colburn St., Toledo.

Chow chow, black female, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (elderly, great difficulty getting up, stiff and slow, severe and chronic skin disease, does not tolerate handling, very poor prognosis); stray picked up Sept. 10 by a control officer on Summit Street, Toledo.

Cocker spaniel, tan and brown male, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (19 years old, agonal breathing, dying); surrendered Sept. 14 by Kevin Reed, 315th Street, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white female, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (grossly abnormal bladder, chronic bladder inflammation and infections, no transfer partner able to take); surrendered July 6 by Brandon Shoop, Craig Road, Maumee.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white male, unlicensed; bit a person while running loose; stray picked up Sept. 5 by a control officer at 1033 Prouty Ave., Toledo.

Parson Russell terrier, white and brown male, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (underweight, facial seizures, pain); stray picked up Sept. 12 by a control officer at 344 Emerald Avenue, Toledo.
