Northwood board picks Clark to lead school district

FREMONT - Gregory Clark said he applied to work in the Northwood Local School District after observing the administration's commitment to ensuring that students are learning.

So the Fremont City Schools director of personnel, student, and administrative services said he was pleased when the Northwood school board recently named him as the district's new superintendent.

"The passion that they showed is a passion that I share," he said after working with Northwood administrators through the Wood County Educational Service Center while he was employed by the North Baltimore Local School District. Mr. Clark of Findlay, who has been involved with education since 1991, was chosen to lead the 1,000-student district from a pool of about 30 applicants.

He will start his new job on June 5 and will be paid $88,000 annually.

The district needs a new superintendent because for the past school year, Gary Jones, the former superintendent of the Columbus Grove Local School District, has been filling in as interim superintendent while the board searched for a permanent replacement.
