A bomb threat was made late Thursday against Sylvania Southview High School, but school started on time Friday, according to a statement from Sylvania Schools Superintendent Adam Fineske.

The district was made aware of the threat Thursday, the statement shows. It was not specified how the threat was made.

Sylvania City Police, along with the Toledo Police K-9 bomb unit, conducted a sweep of the building and gave the all-clear at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

While school started on time, there were additional police present at both Southview and Northview high schools, Mr. Fineske wrote.

Police continue to investigate the threat.

Last week, a student enrolled at Sylvania Virtual Academy was arrested after police and school officials said the juvenile made threats on social media regarding Southview High School.
