Lima man arrested in shooting death

LIMA, Ohio — A 19-year-old Columbus man today died from a gunshot wound to the head and a Lima man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Isiah Smith died about 11 a.m. in St. Rita’s Medical Center. He and Santario Simpson, 35, of Lima, were shot about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of West High Street.

Mr. Simpson, who is a patient at St. Rita’s, suffered a non-life threatening wound to the leg.

Police arrested Deshawn Porter, 18, and charged him with suspicion of felonious assault.
