BOWLING GREEN — Bond was set at $500,000 this morning for a Bowling Green man charged in the death of his 3-month-old son.

Brian Steinmiller, 31, entered not guilty pleas in Wood County Common Pleas Court to murder, involuntary manslaughter, and four counts of endangering children stemming from the May 5 death of his infant son, Carter, from abusive head trauma, and for injuries to the child. Wood County Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex set bond and scheduled a pretrial hearing in the case for Sept. 18.

Mr. Steinmiller is being held in the Wood County jail. The baby’s mother, Rebecca Steinmiller, 25, is charged with one count of endangering children for allegedly failing to seek medical treatment or notify law enforcement when she knew the baby’s arm was broken.
