SANDUSKY -- A Bellevue, Ohio, woman died Saturday morning in a head-on collision on a Perkins Township road that also injured a man from Sandusky, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.

Bertha Wobser, 63, was eastbound on Bogart Road west of Campbell Street when her minivan crossed the center line and collided with a westbound pickup driven by Richard Carter, 65.

Mrs. Wobser was declared dead at the scene, troopers from the patrol's Sandusky post said, and Mr. Carter was extricated from his vehicle and flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Mr. Carter was listed in serious condition Saturday evening at St. Vincent.

The vehicles went off opposite sides of the road and landed in ditches after the 6:55 a.m. crash. Both drivers wore seat belts, according to the report. The crash remained under investigation late Saturday.
