A West Toledo woman who pulled a gun on a burglar was shot when he turned the gun back on her, police said.

Linda Cannon suffered a head wound during the break-in at her home in the 1900 block of Marin Drive on Saturday, police said. Her injury was described as “not life threatening.” She was taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital where, today, she was listed in fair condition.

According to a police report, Mrs. Cannon was home alone when a man broke into the home at 11:14 a.m. She confronted the suspect with her husband’s gun and told the man to leave or she would shoot. The police report states that the suspect grabbed the woman’s hands and turned the gun toward her; one round was fired striking Mrs. Cannon.

The suspect then fled.

Police ask that anyone with any information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
