MILAN, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has filed drug charges against two California men after troopers found 58 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle when they were stopped in Erie County.

James P. Turner, 26, and Pedro J. Nunez, 24, both of Bakersfield, were stopped at 11:10 a.m. Friday on Interstate 80 near milepost 121. A drug-sniffing canine alerted troopers to the vehicle, and troopers found the marijuana, valued at about $135,000, according to the state patrol.

Both men were charged with trafficking in and possession of marijuana, which are both second-degree felonies, and were incarcerated in the Erie County Jail.
