Toledo pastor's daughter turns herself in to authorities
2/22/2018A pastor’s daughter who is accused of assaulting a Sunday school teacher at a downtown Toledo church turned herself in to authorities Wednesday, according to court documents.
Kamali Morris, 18, along with her parents, Anthony Morris, 49, and Zelda Morris, 46, all of the of the 3000 block of Evergreen Road, are each charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony. Mr. Morris is listed as the pastor of St. Paul’s AME Zion Church, according to their website and police documents.

Miss Morris did not turn herself in at the same time as her parents earlier this week. She appeared in court Wednesday before Toledo Municipal Court Judge Nicole Khoury, who gave a monitored recognizance bond, according to court records. Miss Morris was allowed to return to school at Eastern Michigan University.
The family is accused of assaulting and stealing from Nickema Turner, the Sunday school teacher, according to a police report.
Miss Morris is accused of grabbing Ms. Turner by her hair while her mother punched Ms. Turner, police said. The pastor is also accused of pushing the woman to the ground.
Mr. Morris allegedly pulled a gun on Ms. Turner and threatened to kill her, according to the police report.
Prescription medication, a Taser, and a cell phone were allegedly taken.
The couple’s bond was previously set at $75,000, and surety bond was later posted, according to court documents.
The family was ordered to have no contact with Ms. Turner or the church.
Miss Morris is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing March 26.
