Monroe County teen dies in vehicle crash
7/10/2018MILAN, Mich. — A 14-year-old boy is dead after his dirt bike collided with a sport utility vehicle in Monroe County.
Cole Ison, 14, of Maybee, Mich., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about 1:35 p.m. Monday in London Township, according to the sheriff's office.
The Ison youth drove a dirt bike westbound on Milan-Oakville Road when he tried to turn left onto Borso Road. An eastbound SUV driven by Danny Litterell, 45, of Maybee then struck him, officials said.
The teenager wore a helmet at the time. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate.
