Toledo police are investigating two shootings that occurred Monday afternoon.

At 1:30 p.m., police were alerted to a shooting in the 3700 block of North Erie Street, outside of Regina Manor Apartments, said police Lt. Kevan Toney, a department spokesman. A man and woman were fighting outside, and when two other men tried to break up the fight, the first man pulled out a gun and shot one of the other men in the ankle.

The man with the gun also accidentally shot himself in the foot, Lieutenant Toney said.

Both the suspect and the victim were transported for treatment, and the suspect is under police watch, Lieutenant Toney said. He would not say which hospital they were in. Both injuries are not life-threatening.

Charges could be filed for the incident, he said.

At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a second shooting in the 700 block of Woodstock Avenue, Lieutenant Toney said. Three unknown males shot another person inside a residence.

Police have no suspects, he said. He did not know the condition of the victim.
