West Toledo man charged with importuning

A West Toledo man is accused of soliciting a 13-year-old boy for sex through text messages, according to an affidavit filed in Toledo Municipal Court. 

Antonio M. Ramos, Jr., 23, of the 4200 block of Burnham Avenue, is charged with importuning, a third-degree felony.

Mr. Ramos is accused of sending text messages to the boy from July 7 to Aug. 15. Mr. Ramos offered to pay the boy $20 to come to the man’s West Toledo residence to watch him masturbate, according to court records.

It is unknown how the man and boy know each other.  

Mr. Ramos was arrested Monday by Toledo police and he was booked in the Lucas County jail.

He appeared in Toledo Municipal Court Tuesday, where bond was set at $50,000. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
