Teen shot, killed in Old West End

    A teenager died Tuesday at a Toledo hospital after being shot in the Old West End, authorities said.

    Lucas County Coroner James Patrick identified the victim as Tyler Evans, 18.

    Police said the shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Glenwood Avenue, near West Delaware Avenue.

    The death is being investigated as a homicide.

    The teen was rushed to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he later died. An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday.

    Mr. Evans’ ex-girlfriend, Lanessa McBride, said he attended Rogers High School. 

    "He was a good person. He had a good heart. He always stayed positive. You never saw him upset," she said.

    Mr. Evans’ death marks the 31st homicide in Toledo this year.  

    No arrests have been made.
