Paris Williamson, age 27 of Toledo, is charged with complicity to aid and abet another in the commission of a murder and two counts of complicity to aid and abet another in committing felonious assault, according to Toledo Municipal Court records.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, officers were dispatched to a shooting in the area of North Detroit Avenue and Alexis Road. Court records state that a white GMC Envoy followed another vehicle for several miles until both cars turned onto Detroit Avenue, at which point the Envoy drove up next to the other vehicle and a front-seat passenger fired several bullets into the other vehicle.

Monica Myers, a passenger in the second vehicle, was the only person struck and later died from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses identified Williamson as the driver of the Envoy, police said.

Thursday evening, Toledo police officers took Williamson into custody without incident. Williamson was booked into the Lucas County Jail. He was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on Friday, when bond was set at $100,000.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident and are requesting anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at (419) 255-1111.
