After just two hours of deliberations today, a jury in Lucas County Common Pleas Court found Quincy Allen guilty of murder for the death of La’Quan Dunbar.

Allen, 22, of 1343 Oak Hill Ct., smiled as he was led from the courtroom by deputies. Family members of Mr. Dunbar cried quietly. They declined to comment afterward.

After hearing five days of testimony, the jury of eight women and four men found Allen guilty of murder with firearm and gang specifications and guilty of participating in a criminal gang.

Judge Gene Zmuda scheduled sentencing for 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Prosecutors told the jury Allen shot Mr. Dunbar, 20, in the back of the head at the Gas & Express Mart, 2315 N. Detroit Ave. on April 19 in retaliation for the 2012 murder of his brother, Deontae Allen, by a member of the Moody Manor Boyz.
