A Toledo man accused of burning down the central-city home where he lived will appear in court on arson charges in August.

Randy Stuart, 29, of 677 Arcadia Ave. is charged with one count each of aggravated arson and arson to defraud.

He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.

According to court documents, investigators determined that the March fire was caused by someone pouring an "ignitable liquid" in the living room of the Arcadia address and then setting it on fire.

Stuart was arrested and arraigned Friday in Toledo Municipal Court. He's scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 31.

Lucas County Auditor records show that the property, valued at $29,100 and built in 1905, is owned by Rashawn Gibbs of Collingwood Boulevard.

Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said the fire on March 15 was reported at 9:05 a.m. and caused about $15,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
