Bidders pay $137,990 for 96 vehicles at Toledo police auction

Toledo police auctioned 96 abandoned vehicles Saturday morning that fetched prices ranging from $300 for a battered 1964 Buick to $9,500 for a 1994 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

From the $137,990 in total sales the police reported, $26,000 will go to the Law Enforcement Trust Fund. The balance will be paid into the city’s general fund, Sgt. Mark Taylor of the department’s records section said.

The auction at the city impound lot, 198 Dura Ave., attracted 299 bidders, the sergeant said.
