Marathon Classic Fan Guide


■ WHAT: Marathon Classic, presented by Owens Corning and O-I, a stop on the Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour.

■ WHERE: Highland Meadows Golf Club, 7455 Erie St., Sylvania.

■ WHEN: Begins Monday, with tournament competition Thursday through Sunday.

■ PURSE: $1,300,000; winner receives $195,000.

■ FIELD: 144 (141 pros, 1 amateur, plus 2 starters from Monday qualifier at Sylvania Country Club).

■ FORMAT: 72-hole stroke play. Field will be cut to the low 70 scores and ties after 36 holes.


■ PROCEEDS: All Marathon Classic proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House, Bittersweet Farms, Serenity Farm Equestrian Center, Diabetes Youth Services, Together We Can Make A Difference, Toledo Seagate Foodbank, Toledo Hearing & Speech Center, Imagination Station, Special Olympics Ohio, Sylvania Area Family Services, and the Jamie Farr Scholarship Fund.

7:30 a.m.: 13-ABC Pro-Am, shotgun start.

1:30 p.m.: ProMedica/Hylant/Heidtman Steel Pro-Am, shotgun start.


8 a.m.: Brooks Insurance/Health Care REIT Pro-Am, at Inverness Club, shotgun start.

11 a.m.: KeyBank Putting Pro-Am, practice green.

3 p.m.: The Image Group Celebrity/Pro Challenge, six-hole event on Nos. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18.

6 p.m.: The Hollywood Casino Gala Dinner & Show, SeaGate Centre, featuring Tom Papa and the band Libido.

(LPGA practice rounds throughout day.)


7-9:20 a.m. and 12:10-2:20 p.m.: Fathead Celebrity Pro-Am.


Times TBA: Marathon Classic first round, threesomes off Nos. 1 and 10 tees.


Times TBA: Marathon Classic second round, threesomes off Nos. 1 and 10 tees.


9-11 a.m.: Marathon Classic third round, threesomes off Nos. 1 and 10 tees.


9-11 a.m.: Marathon Classic fourth round, threesomes off Nos. 1 and 10 tees. Award ceremony to follow completion of round at No. 18 green.


Daily grounds tickets ($15 Monday through Friday; $20 Saturday and Sunday) are available at main gate. Advance ticket sales, plus information on The Blade Charity Ticket Program, available online at

Located at the public parking lot. Will-call will be staffed during the following hours:

■ Monday: 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

■ Tuesday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

■ Wednesday: 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

■ Thursday: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

■ Friday: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

■ Saturday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

■ Sunday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.


Public parking is located at the northeast corner of Centennial and Brint roads. A $5 daily fee or $10 weekly fee includes shuttle-bus service to and from the main gate.

■ Monday 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

■ Tuesday 6 a.m.-7 p.m.

■ Wednesday 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.

■ Thursday 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.

■ Friday 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.

■ Saturday 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

■ Sunday 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Parking at Highland Meadows Golf Club and Highland Elementary will be by pass only.


Cell phones and beepers are not permitted. Cameras will be allowed on the grounds Monday through Wednesday, but not on competition days. Portable chairs are permitted. No radios, TVs, picnic baskets, coolers, food or beverages may be brought onto the grounds.

All patrons and any items they carry will be subject to inspection by security and local law-enforcement officials.

Admission passes must be displayed at all times.
