Bedford schools eye aging buildings
TEMPERANCE — Bedford schools Superintendent Mark Kleinhans last week gave board members and the public an idea of how the district’s aging buildings would look if voters approve a 4.37-mill levy request May 6 to upgrade the school system’s outdated facilities.

School preps for Mom 2 Mom Sale

Battlefield Park back to summer hours
Summer hours have returned to the River Raisin National Battlefield Park, said Superintendent Scott Bentley. The visitor center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, with the grounds open from sunrise to sunset.

Dog-licensing amnesty visits Monroe
Sheriff Dale Malone’s next dog-licensing amnesty will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Sheri’s Dog Grooming, 675 Cooper St., in Monroe. Veterinarian Dr. John Hermann will be there to provide rabies vaccinations.

Perrysburg, ODOT agree on salt deal
The city of Perrysburg used a new record of 5,800 tons of salt this winter, so preparing for next year it entered in an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 5,000 tons next year. That will go along with the 500 tons the city currently has.

Owens students to offer meals
Owens Community College Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts program will serve international cuisine on Tuesdays and American regional cuisine on Thursdays in April. The student-run Terrace View Cafe is in Heritage Hall Room 113 at Owens' campus in Perrysburg Township off Oregon Road.
