Toledo's budget short of cash, relied on trash hike
Toledo’s general fund budget isn’t even approved, and it’s already short on cash. Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson’s 2016 spending plan relies on hiking the monthly trash fee this year but that had to occur Jan. 1 for the revenue to meet expectations. The delay has cost the city at least $379,000 so far and that figure increases by $366,666 every month.
