2 northwest Ohio veterans to join Military Hall of Fame
Two veterans from northwest Ohio are among this year’s class to be inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor at a Statehouse ceremony today. Army Capt. Jacob “Jack” Close, a Sylvania man who died in 2014 at 94, will be honored for his actions during World War II during the liberation of the Philippines from Japan, while Army Cpl. James D. Kolasinski, 30, of Rossford will be honored for his role in combat operations in Afghanistan.
