It’s official: Finkbeiner enters race for mayor
With plenty of people on hand wearing his campaign shirts and ready to fan out to the neighborhoods, former Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner on Saturday morning formally declared his candidacy to return to that office on the Nov. 3 special election ballot to fill a vacant two-year term. Mr. Finkbeiner, 76, who has been mayor three times before, promised to pave at least 40 miles of city streets annually and to enlist five of the best-qualified drinking-water experts in the country to advise Toledo on its water supply.
