Governor selects 3 area residents to state appointments

COLUMBUS—Ottawa County Engineer David A. Brunkhorst, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, has been appointed by Gov. John Kasich to the Recreation and Resources Commission for a term lasting through Jan. 31, 2018.

The panel advises the director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Maumee attorney Cary R. Cooper was recently appointed to the Ohio University Board of Trustees for a term lasting through May 13, 2023.

Mr. Cooper earned his bachelor’s from the Athens-based university in 1964 before going on to study law at the University of Toledo.

The governor also reappointed Matthew L. Rubin, of Toledo, to the Ohio Commission on Service and Volunteerism until April 21, 2017.
