For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs killed

Dogs killed Sept. 13 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull” mix, black and white male, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​resource guarder (scored 3 out of 5 on Aug. 27); stray taken to shelter June 11 by Toledo police from 1532 Woodland Ave., Toledo.

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, unlicensed; aggressive/​unsafe; stray picked up Sept. 6 by a control officer in the 400 block of East Streicher Street, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (stiff, freezing in playgroup Sept. 12); stray taken to shelter Sept. 8 by Donna Kamann, Forsythe Street, Toledo, from Forsythe and Berry streets, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” blue and white male, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (stiff, not taking corrections in playgroup Sept. 12); stray taken to shelter Sept. 8 by Ethan Miller, South Erie Street, Toledo, from Dorr Street, Toledo.
