Free mammograms offered at special event
6/27/2013Certain women may get free mammograms and clinical breast exams Friday at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center’s breast health screening and education day.
The event, from 1 to 5 p.m., will be at the cancer center at 1325 Conference Dr. on the University of Toledo Health Science Campus, formerly the Medical College of Ohio.
To be eligible, women must be at least 40 years old, be uninsured or underinsured, have a personal or family history of breast cancer, or have not had a mammogram in at least two years.
The screening and education day are sponsored with a grant from the Susan G. Komen Northwest Ohio Affiliate.
UT Medical Center will provide the space, staffing, and clinical services. To determine eligibility or schedule a free exam, contact Jan Tipton, clinical oncology nurse, at 419-383-5170.
