East Toledo man charged with rape

OREGON — An East Toledo man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a dressing room. 

Jesus Escalara, 25, of the 500 block of Potter Street, is charged with rape, a first-degree felony.

Mr. Escalara is accused of following a woman into the dressing room at Goodwill, 3249 Navarre Ave., according to an affidavit filed in Oregon Municipal Court.

Court documents state he exposed himself and began masturbating. Then, Mr. Escalara grabbed the woman, forcing his hand down her pants, according to the affidavit. 

The woman was able to push away from the man and fled to the front count of the store.

Mr. Escalara was arrested and booked in the Lucas County jail, according to records.

Oregon Municipal Court Judge Lou Kovacs set Mr. Escalara’s bond at $100,000 at no percent Thursday.
