CLEVELAND — A Cleveland man has been sentenced to more than 24 years in federal prison for an armed bank robbery in a suburb.

Twenty-two-year-old Shawn Caldwell was sentenced in federal court in Cleveland today on one count of armed bank robbery and one count of using a firearm during a crime of violence. Caldwell is one of four men who pleaded guilty in April to charges in the January robbery of a PNC Bank branch in Euclid.

Caldwell’s attorney says his client was sitting in the back seat of the getaway car when two of the four men went into the bank and robbed employees of nearly $40,000. Attorney Leif Christman says they were caught within five minutes.

The other three men are scheduled to be sentenced next month.
