Mark Martin wins the pole at Michigan International Speedway

BROOKLYN, Mich. - Mark Martin won the pole for the Pure Michigan 400 today at Michigan International Speedway.Martin won his first pole at MIS and led the 45-driver field with a top lap speed of 199.706 miles per hour, ahead of Carl Edwards (198.626) and Jimmie Johnson (198.440).

The Pure Michigan 400 - the second Sprint Cup race of the season in Michigan - is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at MIS.
