Illinois women defeat Toledo 63-55 to eliminate Rockets from WNIT

Rockets backcourt a combined 8-of-33 from the field


The University of Toledo turned the ball over 23 times today in a 63-55 home loss to Illinois, bringing to close the Rockets' run in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

Toledo (29-4) could not overcome 35 percent shooting, 13 Illini steals, and a 23-point, 11-rebound performance by Illinois center Karisma Penn.

Inma Zanoguera led the Rockets with 13 points. The starting back court of Naama Shafir and Andola Dortch shot a combined 8 of 33 from the field.
