Florida defeats tournament darling Florida Gulf Coast University 62-50

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Mike Rosario scored 15 points to help the Florida men's basketball team to a 62-50 win over Florida Gulf Coast tonight in a NCAA tournament South region Sweet Sixteen game at Cowboys Stadium.

FGCU, a 15 seed who became one of the NCAA tournament's darlings, took a 17-6 lead midway through the first half but the No. 3 Gators outscored the Eagles 16-2 in the final 5:23 of the first half to take a 30-26 lead at halftime.

Sherwood Brown and Chase Fieler each led FGCU with 12 points.

Florida will face No. 4 Michigan in an Elite Eight matchup at 2:20 p.m. Sunday at Cowboys Stadium. The winner advances to the Final Four on April 6 and 8 in Atlanta.
