ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Matt Moore pitched six scoreless innings and Ben Zobrist drove in three runs to lead the Tampa Bay Rays to a 4-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians tonight.
Moore (1-0) limited the Indians to a pair of hits by Michael Bourn, walked two and struck out eight. The 23-year-old left-hander retired the final eight batters he faced, departing after throwing 100 pitches.
Zobrist, who's driven in a team-leading seven runs in four games, did most of the damage against Zach McAllister (0-1) with a pair of doubles.
The Indians struck out 11 times and didn't have a runner after the fourth inning.
