DETROIT — Chicago scored three goals in the first 9:33 of the third period Monday to beat Detroit 4-3 and force a game seven in the Western Conference semifinals. The series will head to Chicago on Wednesday, with the Red Wings hoping to avoid losing three straight games in a series they once controlled.

Chicago, trailing 2-1 entering the third, knotted the scored within 51 seconds when Michal Handzus beat Jimmy Howard a few feet in front of the net. Bryan Bickell (5:48) and Michael Frolik (9:33, penalty shot) followed to make the score 4-2.
